Final Product!

Image
After a year of study, practice and mistakes leading up to my production, it is finally complete! I had so much fun throughout the creation of my final task! I learned a lot about myself, my group members and the media industry as a whole! I think this project was the major breaking point in my skills! I developed better filming, editing, and even acting abilities. I truly feel like this production made me very well rounded in knowledge of the media industry. I have always enjoyed acting and directing from a young age and I am so glad I took this class! I am very interested in the film and production industry and cannot wait to see how far I will go! I am so excited to further my skills in the next year of media! I now present my final product!

Production Blog: The End of Editing

As far as editing, I have edited the duration of my clips, put them in order, and added music to my production. I also took the criticism from my film review to add the titles to the News broadcast and edit the music. I decided to mix two separate audios in order to create the score. I wanted the first section of my audio to include royalty-free music from the 50s or 60s that transitioned into creepy, ominous music.  While the older tunes create an ominous tone and set the mood, however adding the creepy music to the second part of my production furthers its effect. In order to do this, I had to completely restart all the work I did on my audio previously. So, I reuploaded the new audio clips into Microsoft and fused the two sounds together! This was difficult to pick up at first and I had to watch another tutorial on Youtube! I am so grateful for the tools I have that help me to further my skills in Media production. After this, I downloaded the music as an Mp4 file and uploaded it to

Changes Made From Film Review

After my film review, I knew there were many things I wanted to improve about my production. The first issue I wanted to tackle was how loud the music was over the lines of my actors. Both individuals who watched my film noticed this and I knew I had to fix it. I was unsure of how to do this at first and found myself researching a tutorial. The tutorial said to split the audio into sections. Then, adjust the audio per section. I began doing this, but as a result, my audio sounded choppy. So, I added the music to Microsoft's music editor. In this application I was able to fade the music in and out, making a smoother transition between the dialogue and music.  Next, I saved the music as an Mp4 audio onto my computer. Then, I uploaded it back into my production and Rewatched the video. I noticed that the fading of the music was not precise as I had not done the fades directly onto the film. I instead had the production pulled up as I edited the music. I decided to have my editor Conn

Production Blog: Editing Improvements!

After having my film reviewed I had things I knew I wanted to change about the editing of my production. First, I contacted my editor Connor and told him the changes I needed to be made. After trying to explain the editing that needed to be made my editor was still confused. So, I told him to bring his laptop to school so we could go over the editing in person. I also had my group mates Addison and Mya join us as Addison enjoys editing and Mya is the main director of the film. As soon as we all met up during our free period, we ran into issues. The computer was not charged so we had to find an outlet. After charging the wifi connection was still acting up, but it was working well enough to continue editing. I ended up having Addison start a hotspot and using this to connect the computer. This helped the editing progress run a lot smoother! Now, it was finally time to start editing. Next, we attempted to transfer the videos from an iPhone to the laptop. As my editor’s first attempt at

Film Review

Over the weekend I edited my final production! After completing it I wasn’t sure if I was satisfied with my final product. I knew there were some editing flaws and possible flaws in the story and execution. I decided to first have my friend who was previously in AICE Media watch my film.  After my friend watched the video she noticed a few things. First, she pointed out that the music over the newscaster was too loud. This is something I know I can easily fix later so I made sure to make a note of it. I decided to create a shared document with my other group members. I made sure to let them know to get the production watched and reviewed by some of their peers. Next, my friend noticed that the news broadcast has no titles so it was not clear to the viewer that it was a newscast. Next, my friend pointed out that the music did not have a large impact on the film. I wrote this down and began brainstorming ideas on changing the music or editing it in some way. After the suggestions of my
