Planning the title sequence for my film's introduction has been a crucial element for the final project. My partners and I are considering using a messy and scary font to present the titles of the film. They'll blend in with the preceding title and fade away with the last. According to the shot of the scene, each title will float in the bottom-middle of the screen. This film's working title is Victim Nine, although it's subject to change. The title will be written in a font titled, "Matura MT Script Capitals" that is considerably bolder and sharp than the remainder of the text, similar to this.   In addition, the primary title will be displayed in a much larger font than the other titles. This title will appear for around 4-6 seconds Before the title of the film gets presented, all titles before that will appear on the bottom-middle of the screen, using the "Segoe Script" font from roughly 2-5 seconds. Since my film is being scripted and shot in th

Title Design Websites

During my research, my group and I concentrated on a website titled, “Art of the Title.” We chose to examine and research this website because it would assist us with the final project and expand our understanding of the opening sequences. This site explains what a movie’s opening scenes are using a detailed description and illustrations. I was able to view opening sequences from a variety of cinema genres and films, including the horror genre. My group noticed as well that the horror film opening scenes used dark lighting, ambient sounds, and scary props. This aspect is very important for the horror genre, so this was a crucial piece of information. This allowed me and my group to observe how numerous opening scenes were envisioned by different directors. One director, for example, took the film’s title literally, while another concentrated on editing. Since the group’s forthcoming project will contain an opening scene, it was very necessary to examine the various and unique sequenc

Movie Conventions Research: The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

Image
This film consistently uses establishing shots and close-up shots to create high-definition visuals for the audience watching this film, to understand the setting of scenes. In the opening scene of The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, a Three-story house is shown using an establishing shot. Throughout that scene, close-up shots are used to include the details inside of the house, including broken glass and furniture, claw marks, and destruction. These types of shots are very necessary for horror films because it creates a chilling effect on the audience as they are receiving information about the setting. This film uses tracking shots multiple times throughout this film as well, as the characters are seen throughout a take. Usually tracking shots are utilized with a medium close-up, however, during this movie they were commonly shot with close-up shots. Horror films pair tracking shots with close-up shots to create intensity between the character and the audience. This film also i

Movie Conventions Research: Bird Box

Various camera angles, sounds, editing forms, and mis-en-scene were used in this film. For starters, numerous scenes were shot at a medium close-up viewpoint with dark lighting as the mis-en-scene. Dim lighting in the forest setting and  Ambient lighting are two examples of different types of illumination. To achieve a chilling effect, many props were added, including a blindfold and a rowboat down a strong river. The majority of the film was shot with diegetic sound, however, there were several instances where there was no sound to create an eerie and mysterious atmosphere within the movie.  Different types of lighting, such as under lighting, were heavily used to generate an ominous impact on viewers. The actors in this film are dressed in costumes that are meant to look worn out and dirty to the audience. The majority of the aspects stated had a positive impact on the movie since they added tension and suspense, which is what this genre is all about. Low angle and eye level angles

Genre Decision

Image
My group decided to choose the genre of horror for our movie introduction. Not only does this genre best for our pitch, but it is also the only genre that makes sense with our topic. Since our pitch is based on the topic of child predators it is very sensitive. The first genre my group and I researched was comedy. This genre is very popular and includes colorful costumes, characters, and editing. However, looking deeper into the genre I knew it would not be a good fit. With a serious issue being discussed flashy, big, and colorful Mis-en-Scene would not correctly convey the message of the pitch. Next, my group began researching the genre of drama. Dramatic films included a focus on actors using establishing shots, wide-angle shots, long shots, medium shots, closeups, and extreme closeups. These camera angles help show viewers the importance of a certain scene in the drama. While these shots seemed fitting for the pitch, some common scenes include fighting, low-key lighting, and paral
