Creative Critical Reflection

My product uses a variety of different props, costumes, and settings in order to promote the product.  Athletes are used to correctly represent the product. Female actors are used in order to show the diversity of Adidas wear. Mainly men are usually represented in athletic commercials, so my product pushes through social barriers. The product represents two fierce athletes, giving viewers the idea they will play better with Adidas gear. My product engages with the audience by keeping them entertained. Music is used as well as a variety of angles and shots so the viewer stays engaged. Lastly, the commercial as a whole leads up to the final scene where players go head to head in a final soccer showdown. As a real media test, my commercial would be distributed to competitive sports games as well as sports TV channels. This is because those participating in or watching sports will be most interested in my product. The whole process of creating this commercial helped my skills in productio

The overall filming of my Adidas commercial was an amazing experience! I learned a lot about my partners as well as myself. I enjoyed the overall planning of this commercial. To begin, planning costumes was very enjoyable for me. I have always loved fashion, so picking these costumes was very enjoyable for me. I also enjoyed making the storyboard for our commercial as I could draw how I envisioned my commercial. Art has always been a passion of mine so I was very happy to create the storyboard. While planning for my commercial was fun, I enjoyed the filming process as well! I did theatre for 4 years so I enjoyed using my skills to both act and direct! My commercial helped me develop many important skills and it helped me further my time management.

The end of editing

Today was my second day of editing, I knew I had to add music to my commercial. First, I began to look for a song that fit the mood and theme that my commercial had. I wrote down a list of 3 songs and individually played each one of them at the same time my commercial was playing in order to see which one would fit best. I quickly eliminated one of the songs as it was too slow and did not match the mood of my commercial. The other 2 songs were very similar and energetic, so I had a hard time choosing between them. I ended up picking the song “Can’t Hold Us” because it fit the energetic theme of usual Adidas commercials. It was very challenging figuring out how to add music to my commercial. I found an article on the Internet that helped me convert the YouTube video to an MP4 file. I followed the article closely and downloaded an app that allowed me to convert my music into an MP4 file. I first had to download the video onto my phone and then uploaded the video onto the app. The app con

Today I began my first day of editing. Our group agreed we would work together on the editing portion of this project. Most of my group had little to no experience editing something like a commercial. Jade Walrave and I had little experience between editing makeup videos or small clips together. I was originally very intimated and worried about the overall idea of editing. After watching a few Youtube videos I decided to edit the video using “iMovie”. This editing program seemed the most beginner friendly, with a good result. After reading the beginner guide online I felt ready to edit. I began by reviewing all of our shots to make sure they were in the right order and the right shots were selected. At first it was hard to select which shots we were going to use in the final commercial. Our group wrote down all of our shots and numbered them in order to pick the correct shot. Each scene had a variety of option’s, but we mostly agreed on our final shots. Next, I added all of the the sc

Today was our second day of filming on October 6th, 2021. Our group was excited to finish our Adidas commercial. Jade Walrave and I changed into our costumes before heading to our filming set. The track, our filming set, was not very busy so we began finding an area with good lighting to film our final scenes. The final scenes we needed to film was the action scene where Jade and I were in a head to head match. We first began by filming a low angle of me and jade running in order to show off the adidas brand cleats. After this we filmed a few of my shoes alone in order to get the perfect shot. Between filming each scene we would go back and review the scene in order to change anything wrong in it. We ended up re-filming the first scene around 5 times before capturing the correct shot. Next we grabbed orange cones to set up the “goal” for our shot. We began practice our blocking for the scene and making sure the angles were correct. It was difficult to originally figure out the filmi
