Cutting and clipping

Today I began my first day of editing. Our group agreed we would work together on the editing portion of this project. Most of my group had little to no experience editing something like a commercial. Jade Walrave and I had little experience between editing makeup videos or small clips together. I was originally very intimated and worried about the overall idea of editing. After watching a few Youtube videos I decided to edit the video using “iMovie”. This editing program seemed the most beginner friendly, with a good result. After reading the beginner guide online I felt ready to edit. I began by reviewing all of our shots to make sure they were in the right order and the right shots were selected. At first it was hard to select which shots we were going to use in the final commercial. Our group wrote down all of our shots and numbered them in order to pick the correct shot. Each scene had a variety of option’s, but we mostly agreed on our final shots. Next, I added all of the the scenes to an editing program before organizing the order of these scenes. After this the clips were cut to the correct length and sped up or slowed down. I ended up going back and changing a few shots in order to perfect the order. After reviewing the final order I realized something way missing. I decided I would need to add a message at the end as well as music or another type of media. I decided to end the Adidas slogan at the end of the commercial. The last scene was the perfect place for this.
