Production Blog: A Rainy Day
Today I planned on filming the last few scenes of our film. My ring light I needed to film the majority of my outdoor scenes arrived earlier this morning. So, I talked to my group and decided to have everyone meet at my house because it was closest to the filming location. I had everyone arrive at 5pm as I planned to film the majority of the outside scenes. These scenes were planned to be filmed in the dark to create an eerie effect, so everyone arrived at my house later at night. After arriving I gave the Connor and Addison, who played Noah and Ashley, their costumes and did everyone’s makeup if it was needed for their character. I decided that Ashley would be wearing natural makeup with exaggerated features such as blush and highlighter dye to the harsh artificial lighting. The only other character I was shooting today was Noah. The only makeup that was needed was the fake blood that I had ordered online. However, it did not arrive to my house yet. Since my group and I would be biking to the filming location I decided to stop at the mall and try to find fake blood. The first store I went to was CVS, a local drug store. I checked on the website before and it said they had it in stock. When I arrived I asked a worker and they said they did not have the product in stock. So, I decided to travel to target. A worked showed me to the correct section and I was able to find some! On the way back from the store it began raining. My group and I decided to bike back to my home and check the weather forecast. It was predicted to rain for the rest of the evening. I decided that we would try filming again Monday. I instructed my actors to change out of their costumes and arrange for a ride to come. After they left I cleaned up my house and hung everyone’s costume back up.
