Our Pitch

 Pitch #1: A film revealing the harsh realities of a young girl and internet predators, as she discovers her dream boy isn’t as he seems.


We plan on filming shots of a young girl getting ready to go on a date with a boy she met online. As she is about to leave the house, the news broadcasts a wanted murderer that uses the internet to prey on young girls. She ignores the news and starts to ride her bike to the forest. As she's biking in the woods, there is an ominous atmosphere. There are flashes of a sketchy figure lurking behind her. She looks around thinking it’s her date, but to her surprise, he does not look like his profile picture. We really like this concept and we would be able to do it easily. We could film the majority of these scenes in one of our homes, and in the local park. 


Pitch #2: A film about two normal high school girls that live a secret double life as agent spies for the United States of America. 


We plan to show two girls first getting ready to go to high school. We would film these scenes in a group member’s house. We would also have to film scenes of the girls in their spy outfits and performing stunts. This would be hard to do as we would have to use actors who can do stunts. We would also need to use a green screen in order to show the actresses leaping from building to building.  This may be difficult to set up and would require the purchase of a greenscreen. 


Our group is choosing to complete our final project using pitch one. The reason we are choosing this pitch is because


we feel this is a very important topic that isn’t spoken about enough. We can film the scenes of pitch one in a more realistic filming environment rather than pitch two, which would be filmed mostly using a green screen.

I was recently tasked with fixing and adding sounds to my 5-minute short film. The film was visually stunning, but the audio needed some work to match its quality. I began by watching the film several times, taking notes on where sounds were needed and what existing sounds needed to be improved. Then, I got to work creating a list of sounds that would bring the film to life. I started by gathering sound effects that matched the film's setting and atmosphere. I looked for sounds that would add to the realism of the scenes, like rustling leaves, footsteps, and wind. Next, I worked on improving the dialogue audio. Some of the dialogue was hard to hear or muffled, so I used audio editing software to clean up the audio and make it more clear. After that, I added ambient sounds to the background of each scene to create a more immersive experience for the viewer. Genre Exploration!

There are so many interesting genres to research, but I have chosen to focus on three in particular: action, romance, and horror. The action genre is one of the most popular and enduring genres in literature, film, and other forms of storytelling. This genre typically focuses on high-energy, fast-paced narratives that feature exciting and often dangerous situations and characters. At its core, the action genre is all about excitement and adventure. The protagonists of these stories are often larger-than-life characters who are brave, resourceful, and skilled in some form of combat or physical activity. They may be soldiers, superheroes, or even ordinary people in extraordinary situations. Romance is another genre that I find captivating, with its focus on the emotional connection between two characters and the growth of their relationship. A soccer showdown

   Today was our second day of filming on October 6th, 2021. Our group was excited to finish our Adidas commercial. Jade Walrave and I changed into our costumes before heading to our filming set. The track, our filming set, was not very busy so we began finding an area with good lighting to film our final scenes. The final scenes we needed to film was the action scene where Jade and I were in a head to head match. We first began by filming a low angle of me and jade running in order to show off the adidas brand cleats. After this we filmed a few of my shoes alone in order to get the perfect shot. Between filming each scene we would go back and review the scene in order to change anything wrong in it. We ended up re-filming the first scene around 5 times before capturing the correct shot.
