Title Design Websites

During my research, my group and I concentrated on a website titled, “Art of the Title.” We chose to examine and research this website because it would assist us with the final project and expand our understanding of the opening sequences. This site explains what a movie’s opening scenes are using a detailed description and illustrations. I was able to view opening sequences from a variety of cinema genres and films, including the horror genre. My group noticed as well that the horror film opening scenes used dark lighting, ambient sounds, and scary props. This aspect is very important for the horror genre, so this was a crucial piece of information. This allowed me and my group to observe how numerous opening scenes were envisioned by different directors. One director, for example, took the film’s title literally, while another concentrated on editing. Since the group’s forthcoming project will contain an opening scene, it was very necessary to examine the various and unique sequences found in a variety of horror films. By using this approach, the group now has a good notion of how the film should begin.

The website, “Watch the Titles,” was my group’s next target! I discovered a multitude of facts while researching this site. Many of these facts included opening scenes, studios, and designers. This website was examined as a group in order to expand the understanding of horror opening scenes in preparation for the final project. I observed how certain credit creators designed credits for a variety of films, in which they appeared. I also had access to a student showcasing option, which allowed us to see what other students had created. This allowed us to appreciate others’ talents while remaining motivated. My group and I also noticed that opening sequences not only happen in movies but occur in computer games and television shows. The opening sequence establishes the tone and mood of the upcoming film, video game, or television show. This site provided further understanding and information about opening sequences, which will have to be incorporated into the film. All in all, my group and I were inspired by this website and gained more knowledge to better our project.
