Pitch #1: “A film about two ordinary high school girls that live a secret double life as agent spies for the United States of America.”
We plan to show two girls first getting ready for high school. We would film these scenes in a group member’s house. We would also have to film scenes of the girls in their spy outfits and performing stunts. This would be hard to do as we would have to use actors who can do stunts. We would also need to use a green screen to show the actresses leaping from building to building. This may be difficult to set up and require purchasing a green screen.
Pitch #2: “A man tries to provide for his family by stealing from a convenience store, but he ends up getting caught in the act by law enforcement.”
We plan to have one person walk into the store. This scene would be hard to recreate in an actual convenience store, so we would need to find a replacement location which would most likely be a group member's house. The person stealing the items gets caught in the act by law enforcement. The perpetrator continues to avoid the cops by running away from them, turning into a police chase. The criminal ends up getting cornered and is forced to surrender.
Pitch #3: “A gym bro (Jorge) attempts a personal record on a bench press and chokes to death; his gym bros attend the funeral and continue to lift in his honor.”
We wanted to film this because we all go to the gym. We also thought that it would be fun and funny to film. However, getting shots of somebody with weight on them could be dangerous. There is also the issue of getting the gym's permission. We also would be most likely nervous to film in a populated area like the gym where people are just trying to work out.
Decision: “A man tries to provide for his family by stealing from a convenience store, but he ends up getting caught in the act by law enforcement.”
We chose this pitch because it was the best one to do realistically. This is mainly because the other pitches required being in public places with many people who would interfere with the shots. We also liked the idea of chase scenes which are popularly seen in movies and shows.
