Group Blog

 Last year when choosing my group members I worked with my classmates I knew from my online freshman year. This year, two of my group members did not take the class and the other individuals I worked with last year decided to work with different groups. So, I decided to find group members that shared the same love for media as I did. I also tried to work with people in my class that I didn't have a large personal relationship with. I think this will allow for more work to be done and for a better final product. So, Jorge Luis Lopez Jr. is my first new groupmate. Jorge is talented at editing and creative design. Last year he edited all of his group's projects. When talking to him about his favorite project last year he explained that it was the final task, since he could show off his editing skills over a longer period of time. This is exciting to me as I know Jorge will bring lots of ideas and skills to the group over the next year. My next group member is Christian Bundalevski. Christian is very good at filming and bringing creative ideas to our group. During AS-level media, he enjoyed showcasing his filming skills throughout the year.  I still plan on focusing on the acting and planning part of this year, while Christian will do the filming primarily. Jorge will focus on editing our project. I am looking forward to completing my task this year and I am very confident in my partners! However, I am still nervous about the length of the production this year. While I did three progressively larger projects during AS-level the length of my production for A-level is roughly two times longer.

A soccer showdown

   Today was our second day of filming on October 6th, 2021. Our group was excited to finish our Adidas commercial. Jade Walrave and I changed into our costumes before heading to our filming set. The track, our filming set, was not very busy so we began finding an area with good lighting to film our final scenes. The final scenes we needed to film was the action scene where Jade and I were in a head to head match. We first began by filming a low angle of me and jade running in order to show off the adidas brand cleats. After this we filmed a few of my shoes alone in order to get the perfect shot. Between filming each scene we would go back and review the scene in order to change anything wrong in it. We ended up re-filming the first scene around 5 times before capturing the correct shot. Production Blog: Extra Details

  Making my film takes a lot of planning and attention to detail. With a schedule of two shooting days, there is a lot of work to do to make sure everything runs smoothly. Here are some of the extra details I had to consider when planning my five-minute film. After I identified the specific locations I will be filming at, including both interior and exterior scenes I still had to work out the details. I first had to e nsure that I have permission to film at each location and was in compliance with any local regulations. Next, I must c onsider the time of day I will be shooting each scene and plan accordingly. Make sure I have all the necessary equipment, including cameras, lighting, and sound equipment. Identify all the participants in my film and make sure they are available on the scheduled shooting days. Establish health and safety protocols to keep everyone on set safe and healthy.   For my commercial assignment, I decided to pair with Jade Walrave, Ely Silverberg, and Mya Hauser.  For this commercial, I wanted to choose some of my peers with who I knew I was comfortable working with and filming with. I met Ely and Mya last year during my general paper class and we often worked on many group projects together. We always would finish our projects on time and we worked great together as a team. `I also met Jade last year during AICE Testing and she sat in front of me. We ended up becoming friends and hanging out the whole summer. After reviewing our schedules we discovered we had AICE Media together.
