Filming Blog

 Today was the first day of filming our "Adidas" commercial. After completing our storyboard we gathered our props and costumes. Jade Walrave and I changed into our costumes and fixed our hair into "athletic styles" before joining our other groupmates. The actors, Jade Walrave, Ely Silverberg, Mya Hauser, and I headed out to our filming destination, the field. Once we arrived we began looking for a place to film our scenes. We knew we needed an area with grass in the center of the field, as well as the bleachers. After finding an area in the center of the field we checked to see how the lighting looked on camera. After taking a few test shots we referenced our storyboard and filmed some of our more simple scenes first. We began with filming the pan of Jade and I's outfits separately. We moved the camera from the bottom to the top on each of our outfits separately. Following this, we filmed the stare down which took a few tries before we could correct the emotional aspect of this as well as the angle. Next, we filmed the scene where Jade was lying on the field after I scored the goal. We took multiple takes of this scene as well as all other scenes to make sure we got the perfect shot. Following this, we filmed our bleacher scene and showed me relaxing after scoring a goal. We also filmed actors Mya Hauser and Ely Silverberg cheering on the bleachers. Lastly, we filmed the playing shot where Jade and I were playing head to head and I score a goal. This scene was important in order to express why Adidas was the brand to wear and it was the brand of champions. We review all of our clips and realized one shot had been filmed vertically by accident so we re-shot this before leaving our filming site.

   Today was our second day of filming on October 6th, 2021. Our group was excited to finish our Adidas commercial. Jade Walrave and I changed into our costumes before heading to our filming set. The track, our filming set, was not very busy so we began finding an area with good lighting to film our final scenes. The final scenes we needed to film was the action scene where Jade and I were in a head to head match. We first began by filming a low angle of me and jade running in order to show off the adidas brand cleats. After this we filmed a few of my shoes alone in order to get the perfect shot. Between filming each scene we would go back and review the scene in order to change anything wrong in it. We ended up re-filming the first scene around 5 times before capturing the correct shot. Production Blog: Extra Details

  Making my film takes a lot of planning and attention to detail. With a schedule of two shooting days, there is a lot of work to do to make sure everything runs smoothly. Here are some of the extra details I had to consider when planning my five-minute film. After I identified the specific locations I will be filming at, including both interior and exterior scenes I still had to work out the details. I first had to e nsure that I have permission to film at each location and was in compliance with any local regulations. Next, I must c onsider the time of day I will be shooting each scene and plan accordingly. Make sure I have all the necessary equipment, including cameras, lighting, and sound equipment. Identify all the participants in my film and make sure they are available on the scheduled shooting days. Establish health and safety protocols to keep everyone on set safe and healthy.   For my commercial assignment, I decided to pair with Jade Walrave, Ely Silverberg, and Mya Hauser.  For this commercial, I wanted to choose some of my peers with who I knew I was comfortable working with and filming with. I met Ely and Mya last year during my general paper class and we often worked on many group projects together. We always would finish our projects on time and we worked great together as a team. `I also met Jade last year during AICE Testing and she sat in front of me. We ended up becoming friends and hanging out the whole summer. After reviewing our schedules we discovered we had AICE Media together. I knew we would work well together as we already got along with each other outside of school. Together our group will function well because each member has their own specialty and skill set.
